Acupuncture For Pain Management

Most people experience significant pain at some time in their lives - whether from an injury, illness, or an unknown cause. Pain is a warning signal, an alarm that goes off when your body is trying to tell you that something is wrong and out of balance.

“Lingering diseases are still curable, those whose regard such diseases as incurable have not actually mastered the skills.”

Acupuncture For Pain Management

The treatment of pain by Chinese medicine is a sophisticated balance of art and science. Either acupuncture for back pain or acupuncture for chronic pain, proper treatment of pain requires a careful evaluation of the type of disharmony (excess or deficiency, cold or heat, exterior or interior), characteristics (qi and/or blood stagnation), and locations (upper body, lower body, extremities, or internal organs). Optimal treatment may require integrative use of herbal medicine, acupuncture, tui-na (Chinese massage), cupping and Gua-Sha therapies. All these therapies work together to tonify underlying deficiencies, strengthen the body, and facilitate recovery from chronic pain. Acupuncture for pain management targets both the symptoms and the causes of pain, and as such, often achieves good pain relief.
